The "Quartet" model was produced for eight years, until the end of the production of the A1 chassis convertible. The name "Quartet" came from the fact that there were 4 paint options, 4 interior variations, and 4 colors of convertible tops to select from, which resulted in a total of 64 color variations.

During the first two years of construction, the Quartet Cabriolet came with narrow "euro" bumpers, and were replaced with the "clipper kit" body kit in the later years.
